I woke to this view! And I had to go vote, because today is election day in Brasil.
Then, I had this e-mail from my beautiful family. :)
Yes, my family keeps my Amazon account all year. I know I will still get some from my mom, my dad, and my two brothers. They are the best!
Now, I'm going to have Sunday lunch at my dad, as always, and I know today my entire family is going to be there. I mean, huge family with all cousins, uncles, etc. Even though I said I didn't want to do anything this year for my birthday, because Sundays are suppose to be lazy days.
This is when we try to take pictures of everybody together.
And here are the love of my life and the ones that gave me the gift above. Even though I know they will give me another present, because they always say e-mail gifts don't feel real.
Now I'm going to party and leave you all my last gift.
Tomorrow I will have the last post of the party. There I will announce all the winners.
I would like to thank you all again for staying with me this week.
I've been updating my blog, and I hope the new blog will be on November 1st.
I would like your help!
If you have the time, and would like to help me out, take a look around. Visit all my pages, and tell me, what you think.
You are going to see some pages, that are still under construction. I have decided to create them, so if would be easier to find old post, but it's a long process that I hope will be done until November 1st.
Also, tell me if you usually read posts such as what I have on Features and what do you think about Blog Tours.
NO, I won't make it mandatory for you to visit my blog and to post a comment. But if you would like to help, I would appreciate the feedback.
I don't mind criticism! You can say what you really think, as long is not in a disrespectful manner.
I'm doing a huge partnership at my job and it has been crazy lately. It has taken me a while to decide to do this, but after three years in a half , I guess it's time to take my project out of it's comfortable zone and dream big.
I'm very excited!
I'm also behind here.
I'm a very organized person by nature. Being a mom of a ADHD boy, I've learned to be even more organized, so our environment can flow better.
So, why does it seems I'm always behind with my blog?
I have no idea! lol
Really, I have finished several books that I haven't been able to write the review yet.
I love writing reviews, but I usually like to think about them carefully and I try to bring something unique for each critique, even when it's not a very good one.
I have posted one today already, but I hope I will be able to write at least three more today.
If you would like to see them, this is my review page:
I sign up by e-mail to all blogs, authors and publishers I enjoy.
I open my e-mails every day, and read/comment/share at the ones that I like.
Even though I have facebook/twitter/pinterest/tumblr/g+ what I really read every day are the e-mails. The rest, I only read the days that I have extra time. Mostly I visit the social media on my phone, but e-mails I open daily on my computer, even when I'm at work.
I enjoy blog hopping and I enter lots of giveaways around the net.
Because I enjoy blog hopping, I usually join one, once a month.
I love commenting on reviews that I enjoy, or at posts that I find cute or funny.
I love meeting new people, and I'm always amazed how humble most authors are.
I'm an Amazon one-click button addicted!
I always have buy more books that I can possibly read in my lifetime. A girl can dream!
I know I'm weird and like to do what most people don't. Sign up for newsletter and commenting on blogs. :)
What about you? What do you usually do on the book-blogging world? What are your favorite things to look at? Do you visit the blogs often? What are the kind of things that make you follow a blog?
Good Luck on today's giveaway and come back tomorrow for more!
Like it says on my "About Me" page, I'm from Rio de Janeiro, Brasil (yes, in Portuguese it's written with an S, and I find it a bit foolish to change it for a Z), but I read mostly in English. It's not because I don't like my language, or anything like that, it just became a habit, I guess. I've lived in America for ten years, from when I was 15 years old, until I was 25 years old, and I've had a "love affair" with the romance world and with several authors that write in English. At first when I came back to Brasil I've tried buying books from my favorite authors in Portuguese, but it took forever for any book to come out to the book stores in Brasil, and Amazon.com would deliver books at my doorstep within a week of being release. After e-books, I was able to get them at the same time it was release on my kindle. Yes, it's hard to compete with Amazon outside of the US. They are very dominant worldwide.
Livros means books in Portuguese, and what I meant with my blog's name was that I have a lot more books written in English on my bookshelves, than in Portuguese.
Talking about my bookshelves... because I'm not really savvy with web design or things like that, I've used a real picture from one side of my in-home library to make my header, and to pay a homage for my first kindle (yes, he died a few years ago when I let him fall on the floor), I've chosen a picture of me with him to be my blog signature/button. You can see it at the end of any of my reviews or at the right corner of my blog page.
So, why did I make a blog? I have lots of people like my mom, my husband, my daughter even some friends that asks me that, almost daily. They say I usually don't have time for anything, but I loose sleep for blogging. lol How I see it, I've started this blog because I needed to talk about all the wonderful books I read and also about the not so wonderful ones, and I didn't know anyone in real life that was interested in hearing me out. They don't read the same books that I do, or when they do, they read the Portuguese translation months or years later.
That's why I've decided to give something back on my blog anniversary. You are all very important to me. To each one of you that has ever read one of my reviews (here, on Amazon, Goodreads, Manic Readers, The Romance Reviews) or has ever visited my blog before and read one of my posts, I'm grateful that you have given a voice to my passion (reading). I feel like we are friends and I feel like we are close, because you understand my love of books.
Thank you all so so so much!!!
